A good read

In a bookshop the other day, while waiting for the helpful staff (thank you, Waterstone’s in Enfield) to try to find a book I wanted, I happened to notice a book by Chris Cleave, The Other Hand, and started to read the first page. I like Chris Cleave’s column in the Guardian so decided to buy the book and it has been gripping me ever since. If you are at all interested in issues relating to Refugees and/or Asylum seekers, then you will find it worthwhile reading this well-crafted tale. The blurb on the back says

We don’t want to tell you what happens in this book. It is a truly special story and we don’t want to spoil it. […] Once you have read it, you’ll want to tell your friends about it. When you do, please don’t tell them what happens either. The magic is in how it unfolds.

I hope that whets your appetite enough. I have to go now as I haven’t finished it yet.
