Bible websites and Sacred spaces

As is usually the case on a Wednesday my blogging time is limited, so I will cheat and borrow from other sites.

Here is a great site for looking up Bible quotes. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/

There are many different versions of the Bible, though most of the English language ones are American. Nevertheless it is a very useful tool and includes some commentaries and cross-referencing which can be interesting.

For those who wonder what Saints Day it is (today is St Angela) I recommend Universalis http://www.universalis.com/ where you can find out the readings for the day as well as other useful information. You can also change the setting to allow for ‘local’ variations. This means you can celebrate those  obscure Irish saints, like St Fursa (you’ve missed him this year as his day is Jan 16th) or St Comgall (10th May).

Those who were particularly pleased when Cardinal Ratzinger was made Pope Benedict probably already know that he has his own fan club website at http://www.ratzingerfanclub.com/ and the name suggests that this website magically morphed when he was elected.

Lastly for some quiet, meditative prayer you cannot do better than the Irish Jesuits Sacred Space site.  http://sacredspace.ie/ Sit back, breathe deeply and enjoy!
